Clean Energy Training Program

Instructor Opportunities

Cape & Islands Self-Reliance is seeking instructors to provide workforce training in the areas of photovoltaic technology, solar thermal technology and energy efficiency and building science.

Photovoltaic Instructors:
NABCEP certification is strongly preferred, however at minimum candidates should be familiar with the NABCEP learning objectives

Solar Thermal Instructors:
NABCEP certification is strongly preferred, however at minimum candidates should be familiar with the NABCEP learning objectives

Energy Efficiency Instructors:
BPI and/or HERS certified candidates are preferred

SEEKING INSTRUCTOR FOR UPCOMING COURSE IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Background:

The Clean Energy Training Program (CETP) workforce training program, funded through the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and the Cape Cod Economic Development Council (CCEDC), provides training in the areas of photovoltaic and solar thermal technology, and energy efficiency to business owners and employees in the construction industry. The CETP provides non-credit industry-focused training that provides participants with the necessary skills to expand their business services to include these technologies, and for qualified individuals to gain the skills needed to seek out employment in this emerging industry.

CETP is seeking an instructor for the upcoming Short Course in Energy Efficiency.  Eligible candidates should have 3-5 years experience providing training in Energy Efficiency and should be proficient in adequately covering topics including (but not limited to):

Energy Principles, conducting home energy assessments, industry recognized accreditation mechanisms, electric bill analysis, conducting blower door tests and thermal shell analysis, construction flaws and identifying air leakages, air sealing methods and materials, insulation types, characteristics and applications, windows and doors, heating and cooling, combustion heating and safety, improving water heater efficiency, air conditioning and energy efficiency, ACCA load calculations and system sizing standards, lighting and appliances.

Eligible candidates should respond in writing with a cover letter and resume.  Competitive compensations is offered.
